If you are on bore water, you know how deposits can happen very quickly. Trying to clean showers is a mission and none of these "wonder" products promoted on TV do actually work, do they?
After being introduced to "Restorex" we have become true advocates of this product. It is amazing, how it restores water stained glass to its former glory. Using it on stainless steel, porcelain wash basins, car wheels puts  most other cleaners to shame.
We sell Restorex in 500ml bottles, and have special cleaning pads to go with it too. Just send us an email for more info.

7 reasons to have your glass tinted

  1. Reduce Fading & Health Risks.  Window film blocks up to 99% of UV rays. A tint in the film also significantly reduces heat  on your interior surfaces. Addressing these two primary causes of fading helps to protect your valuable home or office furnishings. By stopping virtually all the UV rays, window film also provides an effective "sunscreen" for your skin against the harmful effects of the sun.
  2. Control heat. Today's window film can provide up to 82% solar energy rejection versus untreated glass. By controlling hot spots and overall unwanted interior heat from the sun, window film helps create a more comfortable living while reducing cooling costs.
  3. Cut Glare. Whatever the cause—direct sun, reflection from snow, water, or surrounding buildings—glare is not only annoying but can also be dangerous if it blinds your vision. Like sunglasses, window film does an excellent job of cutting glare.
  4. Enjoy Energy Savings. Solar control films can significantly reduce air conditioning usage. This will extend the life of A/C systems and reduce energy costs.
  5. Enhance Appearance. Whether it's a contemporary look or a uniform design that is desired, there's a variety of window film options that can aesthetically enhance the exterior of your home, shop or office . From virtually invisible films to darker colours, there's a range of shades to give you the look you want.
  6. Increase Safety & Security. Accidents, forces of nature and human threats can instantly turn a pane of glass into dangerous shards. Our Safety films transform ordinary glass into safety glass, without the cost or hassle of changing the glass. We can certify our installations to comply with the NZ building standards NZS 4223:Part 3.  Thicker protective safety films are available to provide an extra level of protection in case of breakage and increased security for your possessions against smash-and-grab robberies.
  7. Fast & Easy. Professional installation is quick and simple. There is minimal disruption to your daily lifestyle or work schedule.

How much does tinting the windows cost?

We come across the question of costs a lot and found that people generally have no idea. Consequently, some people are afraid to get a quote.
Our industry is a strange one, in the fact that very few window tinters are prepared to give a price over the phone or by email. I don't know what their problem is.
Here is our approach: Give me some sizes, I will give you a price. The final price may vary, depending on a number of factors. But it should not be very different to the original one.
The other day, we tinted all the clear glass in a "standard" Neill or Initial home. 3 bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and a full basement. There  was 1 ranch slider and 11 sets of 2 panes, plus 3 single panes. The total cost was $1600. No travel costs, call-out fee, GST included. End of story.

A prospective client wanted to get a price on a couple of sets of windows, similar to the picture. Based on his measurements, our price was $370. I went around for a proper quote and the cost reduced by $45.

Morale of the story: Don't be shy, get a quote. We are not going to pressure you into buying from us, we are busy enough.
